01 · METHOD
Our five published review dimensions
Pronunciation and tones
We record Standard Mandarin tones, the surname–given-name boundary, and verified Cantonese romanization.
A readable tone contour describes speech; it does not predict a child’s character or future.
Full-name homophones
The recorded Mandarin and Cantonese readings are checked for contiguous syllable matches in versioned word lists.
No lexicon exhausts every dialect, accent, or new expression; “no match” is a bounded finding.
Five-element conventions
We report common traditional classifications and say when sources disagree.
This is cultural-preference context only, without predicting personal outcomes.
Overseas use
We check surname-first and given-name-first spelling references, segmentation risk, and a name-specific English option.
The issuing authority, existing documents, and established family spelling decide the final legal form.
